ASCAP Hitmakers for KING & COUNTRY, Maverick City Music, Ben Glover and More Win Big at 2022 GMA Dove Awards

From gospel to folk to pop, the 2022 GMA Dove Awards celebrated the best faith-based music of the past year. ASCAP band for KING & COUNTRY took home Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year and Short Form Music Video of the Year (Concept), while acclaimed songwriter Ben Glover was recognized with Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year and Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year. Maverick City Music was honored with Gospel Worship Recorded Song of the Year as well as Gospel Worship Album of the Year.
The night before the Dove Awards ceremony, ASCAP’s Rhythm & Soul department held a special celebratory mixer recognizing the incredible ASCAP artists and songwriters nominated this year. The event was hosted by Grammy Award-winning gospel singer, songwriter and Christian minister Smokie Norful and took place at Sambuca in Nashville. Among the attendees were songwriter-producer Quinten Coblentz and artist-songwriter Aaron Cole, who would go on to win Dove Awards the next day.
