Whether appearing as soloist with the Pittsburgh and Baltimore Symphonies, Hague Philharmonic and National Orchestra of Spain; performing on feature film soundtracks, including Moonlight, 12 Years a Slave and Black Swan; giving solo recitals at the Vatican, for the Dalai Lama or at the Ravinia Festival; or collaborating with Google on a video announcing new virtual reality technology for YouTube, violinist Tim Fain has one of the most wildly diverse careers in the music industry. He is recognized for his adventuresome spirit, vast musical gifts and dazzling versatility in extensive repertoire from Mozart to Muhly. Having launched his career with an Avery Fisher Career Grant and a Young Concert Artists Award, he has gone on to appear as soloist with major orchestras and at leading venues and chamber series across the globe, perform as a regular duo partner with Philip Glass, and collaborate with a stunningly disparate array of artists including Pinchas Zukerman, Richard Goode, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, the Mark Morris and Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Companies, Benjamin Millepied, Billy Childs, Ethan Iverson, Joanna Newsom, Bryce Dessner, Matchbox Twenty singer-songwriter Rob Thomas and rapper Rahzel. He can be heard on the Naxos, Via and Orange Mountain labels.
