Rising Star Lainey Wilson Leads 2022 CMA Nominations

The Country Music Association recently announced the nominees for the 56th annual CMA Awards.
ASCAP member Lainey Wilson, a first-time nominee, is the most-nominated music creator this year with six nods, including New Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year. Wilson is just the fourth artist in CMA Awards history to ever receive six or more nominations the first year on the ballot.
Other top ASCAP nominees include Carly Pearce and Chris Stapleton, with five nominations each, and Josh Osborne with four nominations.
Alongside Wilson, first-time ASCAP CMA Awards nominees include Jacob Davis, Matt Jenkins and Trent Willmon.
Honoring 27 ASCAP members and groups with 54 nominations, the 56th CMA Awards will air live from Nashville on Wednesday, November 9 on ABC.
