ASCAP celebrated the writers and publishers of country music’s biggest songs of 2022 at an exclusive gathering in Nashville on November 7. It was a night of perfect tens for the peerless Ashley Gorley: his 10th ASCAP Country Songwriter of the Year award, for writing 10 of the past year's most-heard country songs. Jordan Davis, a fixture on the country charts, won his first ASCAP Songwriter-Artist of the Year honor, and Sony Music Publishing took Publisher of the Year. Song of the Year went to "You Proof," marking Ashley Gorley’s third time accepting this honor, alongside winning publishers Round Hill Songs and Sony Music Publishing. The song is among Gorley’s 70 #1 hits, an unprecedented career achievement in any genre.
