Eight ASCAP Members Earn 2022 Golden Globe Noms

The 79th Golden Globe Award nominees have been revealed – and ASCAP legends are raking in the honors. ASCAP Shirley Walker Award-winning film composer Germaine Franco earned a Best Original Score – Motion Picture nod for her magical scoresmithing for Disney’s Encanto. Screen-scoring icon and ASCAP Henry Mancini Award winner Hans Zimmer was nominated in the category for his otherworldly music for Dune. And Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood was nominated for his enthralling accompaniment to the Jane Campion western, The Power of the Dog.
Over on the Best Original Song side, Queen Beyoncé Knowles-Carter added a nomination to her collection for “Be Alive,” her song from Williams family saga King Richard. Broadway darling Lin-Manuel Miranda was nominated for his song “Dos Oruguitas,” a gem from Disney’s Encanto. The multitalented Jennifer Hudson wowed audiences with her portrayal of Aretha Franklin in Respect; and her song “Here I Am (Singing My Way Home)” earned her a Golden Globe nomination! Finally, international superstars and ASCAP Vanguard Award winners Billie Eilish & Finneas O’Connell were nominated for their title song to the latest James Bond installment, “No Time to Die.”
