12 ASCAP Writers Shortlisted for Golden Globes
December 11, 2025
The global ASCAP family raked in the nominations for the 2026 Golden Globes, with a total of 12 songwriters and composers earning six nominations across the two music categories.
On the Best Original Score side, ASCAP Henry Mancini Award laureate Hans Zimmer earned a nod for his ::ahem:: driving score to the racing film F1, while Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood was nominated for One Battle After Another, his latest collaboration with director Paul Thomas Anderson.
The Best Original Song category is dense with modern ASCAP greats. In the same year that he won the ASCAP Foundation Champion Award, Broadway & film legend Stephen Schwartz is competing against himself with two nominated songs from Wicked: For Good. He’s up against ASCAP Women Behind the Music honoree EJAE, Mark Sonnenblick (a participant in our 2025 ASCAP Foundation Musical Theatre Fest), and their five Korean co-writers on “Golden,” the #1 hit single at the heart of KPop Demon Hunters. Also in the running are Simon Franglen for “Dream As One,” the powerful ballad from Avatar: Fire and Ash, and Raphael Saadiq, a searing blues song from Sinners.
The awards are scheduled for January 11, 2026. Best of luck to our ASCAP family!
