While shopping for anyone can be a challenge, figuring out what to get for creators with esoteric tastes and unpredictable schedules can be especially daunting; but not impossible! If you focus on the common ground that most creators share, such as the desire to keep our creativity flowing and our minds balanced, you can find all kinds of great gifts that the creators in your life would appreciate (and actually use). Here are 12 top picks recommended by wellness experts.

Wellness journal

According to Aaryn Olesen, a board-certified wellness coach in Bainbridge Island, WA, a personal journal dedicated to wellness is a great gift option for creators, providing a mindful outlet to reflect on where they are in their journey (or even just their week) and what they might want out of their future. "A journal with prompts for mindfulness or gratitude can help creators stay grounded, reflect on their goals and manage stress," she says.

Blue light-blocking glasses

We probably all wish we could minimize our screen time, but that’s often easier said than done – especially for creators. Blue light-blocking glasses can help mitigate some of the negative effects of screen time, such as eye strain and disrupted sleep, Olesen says. "Blue light glasses help filter out harmful light and reduce digital eye strain, helping creators maintain better sleep cycles and overall well-being," she says.

Wireless speaker

A quality wireless speaker is a must-have for any creator, says Jamie Gold, CKD, CAPS, MCCWC, a Mayo Clinic-certified wellness coach, wellness design consultant, and the author of Wellness by Design: A Room-by-Room Guide to Optimizing Your Home for Health, Fitness, and Happiness. From the home office to the garden and beyond, a Bluetooth speaker is the simplest, easiest way to take your music on the go, she says.

Digital photo frame

According to Gold, visual stimulation is an area that is often overlooked among music creators, who tend to prioritize sound. But when it comes to our mood, a picture really can be worth a thousand words. "Visual stimulation is a boon for creators; when we look up from our screen or page, we should feel inspired and joyful," Gold says. "A digital frame that rotates images that delight you is one way to deliver this experience."

Ergonomic desk accessories

Maintaining good posture is another area that's often overlooked – until you start to notice signs of discomfort, like back pain or eye strain. A comfortable, ergonomic workspace can benefit both productivity and creativity. "Creators often spend long hours at desks, so items like ergonomic chairs, standing desks, or cushioned keyboard pads can improve posture and prevent strain-related injuries, making work more comfortable and sustainable," Olesen says.

Noise-canceling headphones

If you're working in a coffee shop, library or other public space where listening to music out loud isn't feasible or appropriate, noise-canceling headphones are another great option to not only avoid disturbing others but also help you stay focused on your task at hand. "Noise-canceling headphones can help block out distractions, allowing creators to focus deeply on their work or enjoy periods of relaxation," Olesen says.

Aromatherapy diffuser

Essential oil diffusers are a subtle yet effective way to create a calm and harmonious environment that can help creators stay in a positive mindset while working, or even just unwind at the end of a day. "Scents like lavender and eucalyptus promote relaxation, while citrus or peppermint can help increase focus and energy," Olesen says.

Creative prompt cards

Card decks designed to inspire creativity – offering prompts or challenges for creators to spark new ideas – are a great gift option that will make it clear you were thinking of them and value their work. "These can help them break through creative blocks and can even be an essential part of a self-care routine," Olesen says.

Weighted blanket

A weighted blanket is a nice way to remind the creator in your life to prioritize rest and focus on self-care outside of their working hours. "Weighted blankets provide calming pressure, which can reduce anxiety and promote better sleep," Olesen says. "A well-rested creator is more likely to stay inspired and productive."

Meditation app subscription

By now, most people have heard about the benefits of meditation, but many never actually take the time to try it out. "Gifting access to a meditation or mindfulness app is a thoughtful way to help creators manage stress, focus and mental clarity, supporting their creative process," Olesen says.

Scented candle

Sometimes lighting a new scented candle can be all it takes to shift into a different frame of mind, whether that be one of relaxation, energy or creativity. "High-quality, non-toxic candles with calming or invigorating scents can enhance a creator’s workspace, offering both relaxation and sensory stimulation during brainstorming or writing sessions," Olesen says.

Water bottle

Hydration is an essential part of maintaining a healthy body and mind, so it’s especially important for creators to stay on top of their water intake. While a high-quality water bottle would make for a nice gift, there are options that go the extra step of encouraging more consistent hydration habits – ideal for busy creators. "A sleek water bottle with time markers or motivational phrases can encourage them to stay hydrated throughout the day," Olesen says.
