A message from Paul Williams, ASCAP President & Chairman

LEWIS CAPALDI | Songwriter of the Year

Charismatic Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi burrowed into our hearts with his debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, the best-selling UK album of 2019 and 2020. He wins his first ASCAP Songwriter of the Year honor this year, on the strength of "Someone You Loved" (the longest-running top 10 UK single of all time by a British artist) and its followup single "Before You Go," another UK chart-topper and a top 10 single in the US.
