Eight ASCAP Members Score 2021 Oscar Nominations
March 15, 2021
ASCAP composers and songwriters are headed to the Academy Awards! Starting with the Original Song category, Oscars veteran Diane Warren received her 12th nomination for "Io Sì (Seen)" from The Life Ahead, co-written with Laura Pausini. British composer Daniel Pemberton nabbed a nomination for the uplifting "Hear My Voice" from The Trial of the Chicago 7. And pop savan(t) Savan Kotecha, along with his Swedish co-writers Fat Max Gsus and Rickard Göransson, earned their nod for the soulful and silly "Husavik (My Hometown)," from Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga.
Speaking of Soulful, in the Original Score category Jon Batiste and Trent Reznor continued their string of nominations for their music to Pixar’s poignant Soul. Reznor has also earned a nom for the score to Hollywood fever dream Mank.
The 93rd Academy Awards Ceremony will broadcast live on ABC on Sunday, April 25 from 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM EDT. Don’t miss your chance to watch your favorite ASCAP nominees win their statues!
