ASCAP Family Cleans Up at 2022 SCL Awards

What a night for ASCAP creators at the annual Society of Composers & Lyricists Awards! Winning in seven categories, ASCAP members were celebrated for their phenomenal achievements over the past year. 

Germaine Franco continued her awards spree for the beloved Disney animated film Encanto with her win for Outstanding Original Score for a Studio Film. On the indie side, Daniel Hart picked up a win with his enthralling score for The Green Knight. 

HBO’s The White Lotus was the talk of the town this season, and everyone had Cristobal Tapia de Veer’s score in their heads. It’s no wonder he was the winner for Outstanding Original Score for a Television Production. Superstar siblings Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell added an SCL award to their Grammy and Golden Globe for the stunning title track to the latest Bond feature, No Time to Die. Pop princess Ariana Grande and Kid Cudi rounded out the song categories with awards for their pop banger “Just Look Up” from apocalypse comedy Don’t Look Up. 

In gaming news, Sam Slater took Outstanding Original Score for Interactive Media for his work on Battlefield 2042. And finally, film scoring great Carter Burwell and his fellow ASCAP members Joel & Ethan Coen were honored with the Spirit of Collaboration Award for their immense collection of iconic film works together.
