ASCAP Nashville Family Takes 10 CMA Honors

The 57th Annual Country Music Association Awards rocked Music City last night and the ASCAP family has so much to celebrate! Our members won 10 of the 12 categories – a huge accomplishment!
Lainey Wilson just can’t stop making history. She follows her enormous CMA debut in 2022 – where she was first-time nominee and the most-nominated music creator of the night – with another massive night, emerging the night's biggest winner. She took home five awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year for the second year in a row and the prestigious Entertainer of the Year honor. She also took home Album of the Year, Music Video of the Year and Musical Event of the Year (which she shares with producer Jordan Schmidt for “wait in the truck”).
It was also a big night for Tracy Chapman’s beloved 1988 song “Fast Car.” 35 years after the release of the original, the new cover – recorded by Luke Combs – won a Song of the Year award for songwriter Chapman and Single of the Year for producer Jonathan Singleton.
Old Dominion and Brothers Osborne earned Vocal Group of the Year and Vocal Duo of the Year, respectively, for the sixth time. Chris Stapleton won Male Vocalist of the Year, his record seventh time earning the award.
