ASCAP Family Sweeps Music Categories at The 2023 Oscars

Congratulations are in order – ASCAP members won trophies in both music categories at the The 95th Academy Awards ceremony!
Tollywood lyricist and singer Chandrabose made history with his Best Original Song win for "Naatu Naatu." The song – from the massive Telugu blockbuster RRR – is the first Indian film song to win an Oscar. Co-writer M. M. Keeravani was so moved he rewrote the words to a classic ASCAP song by The Carpenters in his acceptance speech. We’re on “top of the world” for this historic win!
Best Original Score went to Volker Bertelmann for his haunting, spare music for the well-awarded All Quiet on the Western Front. The film was the second biggest winner of the night, with four wins in total.
A special congratulations to ASCAP member Guillermo del Toro. His stop-motion feature, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, won Best Animated Film.
